Business As Usual – Reassurance to Culture Collections Customers
As you may be aware, on Monday 26 July 2010 the UK government published the report of the Department of Health’s review of Arm’s Length Bodies. This report said that the Health Protection Agency will lose its status as a Non-Department Public Body (often referred to as a NDPB or ‘quango’) in changes likely to be implemented within the next two years. This does not mean that the Health Protection Agency is being ‘axed’ as reported by some of the media, but only that the Health Protection Agency will lose its status as a statutory organisation and have its functions transferred to a new public health service. The full details of the structure and functions of this public health service are yet to be decided, and will not be known until a White Paper on Public Health is published towards the end of the year.
The HPA Culture Collections will continue to provide its customers with its normal range of products and services through this change and into the future.
