Level 1 Cell Culture Training Course
This three day course is aimed at those with little or no prior experience in cell culture and is intended to provide practical training for those who are about to commence work within a cell culture operation, either with a commercial organisation or as part of a research project.
The Level 1 course is designed as an introduction to the fundamental basics of cell culture and includes, lectures, workshops and practical sessions on a range of topics including:-
Introduction to the biology of cultured cells
Setting up a cell culture laboratory
Cell environment; media, supplements, choice of growth matrix
Resuscitation, subculture and cryopreservation
Good cell banking practice, including record keeping and an introduction to authentication
Testing for microbial, including Mycoplasma, contamination
Safety in the cell culture laboratory

The Level 1 course is held twice a year in the Spring and Autumn. Accommodation is booked on your behalf at a hotel in Salisbury although this is not included in the course fee.
The course fee includes transport between the hotel and ECACC, a comprehensive training manual, lunches and refreshments at ECACC and a course dinner which gives delegates the opportunity to interact with staff members teaching on the course.
